Farncombe Farm

Farncombe Farm is a lovely little pitch near Lambourn which serves as a great start point for many circular walks and easy access to the Ridgeway.

For this particular camp there was three of us; Mike, Min, and Myself. Min brought out their Hilleberg Anaris, I had my Nortent Vern 1, and Mike with his Hilleberg Akto. I did feel a little like I wasn’t a part of the ‘Hilly Club’ however I am adoring my Vern 1, even if it is a rather heavy tent (Anaris is 1.4kg, Akto is 1.6kg, Vern 1 a whooping 2.7kg!), but as this was a static camp and I didn’t have to carry the tent for the walk it was all good.

Mike and I set off to Farncombe with our day bags and did the almost 10 mile hike around Lambourn which had some fantastic views and we were blessed with a clear sky for the whole walk. Min came a little later with our tents and the barbicue so when we arrived at the pitch we could put up our tents and collapse with some good food!

The field for tents and vans is sloped which isn’t the most ideal, however it’s not a huge issue and such a big field that there is always space.
